Escape Technology are delighted to announce a new funding initiative for the UK VFX community. As part of their film skills strategy, Creative Skillset currently have development funding available for VFX facilities to train between 3-10 members of staff and have access to up to £8,000 of funding per successful application. This exciting initiative is funded by the National Lottery via the BFI. If you are interested and want to apply, you can do so right here! Please note that applications close next Thursday, on the 18th of July; so if you have any interest please do act quickly as there isn’t much time left! The opportunity is for VFX facilities which will deliver training for between 3-10 junior staff members, either at their place of work, off-site or on-line. The training should aim to meet the needs of the individual as well as meet the immediate needs of the company and enable it to meet short to medium term business goals. Need some more information? Last night at Audi City, Piccadilly we hosted our very first Post NAB Showcase in partnership with Adobe, Autodesk, HP and NVIDIA. We had a huge turnout and the event was an incredible success, with Adobe showcasing the latest technology from Adobe CC and Autodesk presenting the benefits of Autodesk 2014 Entertainment Creation Suites. All demonstrations were made using top of the line HP Z Series workstations powered by the latest NVIDIA Quadro, Tesla and Maximus compute technologies.
