Motion North is the biggest VFX community event in the North of England. Their next showcase takes place in Manchester on 12 October, and we’re proud to be sponsoring with Autodesk.
Organiser Jonathan Ashworth explains the Motion North mission: “It's to shout about what we do, and, hopefully, grow stronger together," he says. It's also to "gather the community together, have a drink, chat and learn from our peers."
Their plan is working. Motion North has grown over the last few years from a pub gathering to events that draw hundreds from across a wide region, and attract speakers from a range of disciplines. “We’ve had talks on 2D Animation, Film VFX, Branding Design, Facial Recognition and Cell Animation,” Jonathan tells us.
For the latest instalment, Mike Moloney from Art&Graft has been invited to discuss his studio’s work, including the recent National Lottery campaign during the Olympics.
