V-Ray Next for 3ds Max

More from Chaos Group

Chaos Group’s flagship renderer, V-Ray Next provides powerful CPU and GPU rendering and seamless integration with 3ds Max.

V-Ray is a well established tool in a variety of pipelines ranging from post production to architecture, video games, and automotive design. With its adaptive dome lighting, V-Ray Next is ideal for lighting 3D interiors, using scene intelligence to optimise the way light is sampled and removing the need for skylight portals. Adaptive dome lighting works hand in hand with V-Ray’s GPU rendering capabilities, giving you some of the fastest rendering speeds around. And noise can be removed from a rendered image in under a second thanks to NVIDIA’s OptiX AI-accelerated denoiser.

V-Ray Next for 3ds Max Update 1 new features:

Viewport IPR

V-Ray IPR on CPU is now faster and features support for atmospheric effects.

Lens effects

Glare and bloom effects have been redesigned to be faster and more accurate.

GPU bucket rendering

Multi-GPU rendering and distributed rendering is now faster. Cryptomatte andrender elements are now supported.

GPU fast fog

Environmental fog now features faster sampling for V-Ray GPU.

GPU dispersion

Light refractions can now be split into individual component colours, adding a new level of accuracy and detail.

Rolling shutter

Warp, motion, and blur effects can now be emulated.

Glint and glitter hair controls

Achieve realistic highlights in V-Ray’s physical hair shader with glint and glitter controls.

Improved lighting and render

Support for adaptive dome lighting has been refined, and lighting passes have been updated offering consistent, artifact-free results.
